Our Giving Daughter, Claire
Our daughter Claire was a high-academic achiever, but always made time to volunteer and help others around her. Claire was so giving in fact, when she tragically passed away in March 2014 she had already made the decision to give to others through organ, eye and tissue donation.
The Gift of Bone -Twice!
I had just turned 15-years-old, in March of 1996, when I was diagnosed with bone cancer in my leg.
My Son, My Hero
I was born with a birth defect - acute nephritis – and had to have one of my kidneys removed when I was a small child. For more than thirty years, I dealt with this condition until 2008, when my only son, Jachob, decided he wanted to be my living kidney donor.
We Dash for: Our little buddy, Jack
At just over seven months old, Jack was a happy, energetic little boy. Born November 25, 2014, he loved to move from the very beginning – his exersaucer and his bumper jumper were two of his favorite activities.
We Dash for: Our sweet Noah
Our son Noah was the clown of our family. He was very outgoing and outspoken and he gave the best hugs - the kind that knock you off your feet. Noah had an amazing, compassionate heart. He was a giving and caring little boy.
I Dash For: My mom, a recipient and donor
My mom was the life of the party. When she was around there was never a dull moment. My mom was Bobbi Shaffer, a 12-year heart recipient and, in her death, a tissue and cornea donor. This is her story.
