Dancing and Dashing on Through Donation
My daughter Jenae' had the world in her hands. As a sophomore at Lakewood High School, she was involved in student council, on the cheerleading squad and spent her lunches mentoring a grade school student who needed extra help with her homework.
Aspen, blessings and LIFE!
Having received a life-saving kidney in 2008, I know what it feels like to be humbled by another’s generosity. I had that same feeling in December when I flew to Aspen, CO to take part in the Aspen Summit for Life.
Day of Giving Hearts
February 14, besides Valentine’s Day, is “National Donor Day.” It’s a day to recognize loved ones who have given the Gift of Life, those who have received and those who are waiting for a transplant – and for our family, it is the day my little brother became a hero.
My Vow to Rita
An unfortunate fall from the garage roof while hanging Christmas lights in late 2006 landed me in the emergency room. While there it was discovered I had scarring in my lungs.
Life twice! A mom’s story…
My twins, Ethan and Evan, were born eight weeks premature. All was going well until Evan developed a urinary tract infection. Doctors discovered his kidneys were not properly formed – we were told his kidneys would not function for long, but for how long, they didn’t know.
Luke’s Story – Love Others and Help Others
Bege’s son Luke never knew a stranger. The eldest of three boys, Luke was a scholar, an athlete and always had a smile on his face. “He was dearly loved,” his mom said.
