Garrett William Scott

Marietta, OH. Died May 10, 2021. Garrett healed countless individuals through his gifts of tissue donation.

“Garrett made the world a better place. He spent his short 25 years of life making a difference in the lives of others. Garrett was a mentor and Teen Coordinator for The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County. He spent countless hours with middle school and high school students, building their self-esteem, assisting with homework, helping them make good choices and just being a friend and support person.

He had a strong faith in God and he touched many lives through music. Garrett used his God-given talent by playing drums in the worship band at Pathway Community Church. He loved being on stage on Sunday mornings, playing, singing and watching others lift up their burdens.  He also played drums for a local musician, The Jake Binegar Band. He and Jake and the rest of the band loved going out into the community, sharing their talent and just having fun.

Garrett protected his community as a Firefighter/EMT with the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He was sworn into the US Army Reserves just three days before his passing. He was ready to serve his country and always wanted to be part of our military. Garrett loved to travel and his favorite place was Las Vegas!”

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in a stone monument, but what was woven into the lives of others.” -Pericles
