Tuesday’s Tale: My Unlikely Journey For some, a journey starts with a single step. For me, it started with a sentence, “I’m sorry Suzy, you have Hepatitis C and your liver is failing.” My first thought when I heard this was “How? Why me?” That one instance, that one fleeting conversation, forever changed my life. It hasn’t been the easiest journey but I have made it this far. And my story will live on because of it.

Tuesday’s Tale: I Got My Life Back 10 years ago I received the best gift anyone could ever ask for: I got my life back. Things I never thought possible have come true: hopes, dreams, and ambitions; all possible because of one person’s selfless act of kindness.

A Lasting Legacy We find comfort though in the knowledge that Jason’s legacy of life will continue on through his recipients. Knowing they are alive today because of a decision Jason made years ago has given us assurance that Jason’s life will never be forgotten and his light will shine on.

Why Not? Just before my twenty-first birthday, I was diagnosed with end-stage Renal Disease -- Kidney Failure. I was playing college football and during a routine physical the doctors were so shocked by my blood pressure level that I was immediately rushed to the emergency room, and my life changed forever.

My Hero, Jan I feel like the hero in this story is my Sister-In-Law, Jan. When I told her I had kidney disease and might have to go on dialysis, she instantly volunteered to give me a kidney. I was completely overwhelmed.
