The Shawls of Support Program honors local organ, eye and tissue donors by providing their families with the gift of a handmade shawl to comfort them in their time of loss. The shawls are made by volunteers, many of whom are transplant recipients, but there are also donor family members who have contributed shawls as way to show their support for others sharing the same grief journey. New members are always welcome to the Shawls of Support group that meets monthly at Lifeline of Ohio.
Since the inception of this group, more than 3,000 shawls have been provided to donor families! For more information or to get involved, contact our Bereavement Services department.

Letter from a grateful shawl recipient
I want to thank you for the beautiful shawl you sent me. I truly appreciate you helping to honor my beloved husband, Timothy. I have wrapped that shawl around me on many sleepless nights. It has warmed and comforted me at my worst times. I’m so happy and honored that my husband was able to give what he could to make others lives better. God bless all of you and may you continue to provide peace, hope and healing for others.
