Micheal Converse
Wapakoneta, Ohio. Micheal “Wally” David Converse, aged 42, tragically lost his life, on October 17th, 2023, due to complications from a UTV accident. Through his selfless act of organ donation, he was able to save four lives, gave sight to two through cornea donation and enhanced countless other lives through tissue donation, as well as aiding research efforts. Micheal was a devoted husband to Elisha, together for 18 years, and a remarkable father to his young sons, Bryce and Mason. He was also cherished as a son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend to many. He was known as Wally to all his friends.
Micheal took immense pride in his role as a father, cherishing every moment spent with his boys, who were his utmost priority. He worked in construction and possessed a vast array of knowledge, often being the go-to person for assistance with household tasks. His skills were highly regarded, and he was always ready to lend a hand, making him a reliable figure in the lives of those around him. He relished the opportunity to impart his knowledge to his sons, involving them in various projects at home and around the garage.
Micheal had a passion for fishing and duck hunting, a pursuit he had enjoyed for many years, often practicing his “annoying” duck calls at home. He was an enthusiastic soccer dad, having coached his sons on numerous occasions throughout the years. He took pleasure in practicing with them and supporting their aspirations in soccer, relishing the opportunity to watch them develop and thrive. Additionally, Micheal enjoyed bowling, and he recently had the chance to bowl on a team with Bryce, creating cherished memories together.
Micheal was a dedicated supporter of the Cleveland Browns. Regardless of the team’s performance, his loyalty remained unwavering. He was a Harley Davidson guy; he took great pleasure in riding his bike during his free time. At family cookouts, Micheal would often be found near the grill, a cold beer in hand, expertly preparing burgers. He took pride in his grilling skills and enjoyed being the one to oversee the cooking. His signature look included a hat of some kind, often topped with his sunglasses, a familiar sight to all who knew him. Micheal also had a smile and laugh that brought so much happiness to those who knew him. It is something we all miss so much.
The 4th of July was Michael’s favorite holiday. Each year, he would take his wife and children to the zoo, followed by a trip to purchase fireworks. They would host a gathering with family and friends, and he always aimed to create a more impressive display than the previous year. This tradition has been carried on by our family, as we know he would have continued to put on such an amazing show.
Micheal was cherished by many and is profoundly missed every day. We hope that he remains a lasting memory in this world. As a family, we strive to honor him through our efforts to keep his legacy alive, reminding others of the hero he was to so many in various ways.
Too well loved to ever be forgotten.
