Learn About Our Recipients!

Michaela, tissue recipient

Michaela was in eighth grade when she tore her meniscus during a dance routine – dancing was her life and the thought of never dancing again was unfathomable. Thanks to a heroic donor, Michaela received a tissue transplant on January 10, 2006 and went on to win a national dance title just a year later!

She is now happy, healthy and working in health education to continue to promote the importance of donation. All thanks to her donor.

Roman, heart recipient

Roman was born with a serious heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. When he was only three months old, he was listed for a heart transplant.

After three months of waiting, the call came on May 6, 2012! Since that time, Roman has thrived! He’s now in third grade, loves to play and live life. All thanks to his donor.
