Dancing For My Donor
During my eighth grade winter break, I was doing what all competitive dancers did on every school break – dancing all day, every day. As we ran through our jazz routine again, I thought the pain in my knee just was from the hours of dancing.
“That’s Sam.”
When Sam unexpectedly died at the age of 33 and his family was called about donation, Nancy wasn’t surprised he had registered as a donor. “We didn’t have a family conversation about donation, but when we were told that he was registered, we instantly said ‘that’s Sam.’
Transplant Games of America Athlete Profile: Carol Fitzsimons
Thousands of individuals touched by donation convened for the games, to cheer on transplant recipients as they participate in sports ranging from track and field to badminton. Carol Fitzsimons is one of the members of Team Ohio and represented the Buckeye state at the national event.
Remember Sydnee
My daughter Sydnee was always concerned with the well-being of others. She was the person her friends would go to when they were having a bad day or going through a tough situation. She always knew what to say or do, whether it was providing some words of encouragement, sharing her own struggles, or just being silly to help them gain perspective. Unfortunately, our daughter’s life was cut very short.
We Dash for Richard
My son Richard was a quiet, perceptive young man. He was an athlete and animal-lover. He liked skateboarding, playing soccer and was a huge Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeye fan.
Our Beautiful Daughter’s Gift Lives On
Our daughter Josie was a true friend, always smiling, adventurous and she would light up any room she walked into. She graduated from Danville High School in 2012 where she was involved in sports, FFA, the school newspaper, on yearbook staff and a member of student council. Josie showed goats at the county fair and attended North Bend Church of the Brethren. She lived every minute of her life to the fullest.
