Placenta Donation Program
They manage all aspects of placenta donation including developing strategic partner relationships, coordinating logistics for placenta donors and clinical staff, and facilitating the charting and packaging required for placenta acquisition.
Clinical Response
They provide the initial on-site evaluation and establish a plan with hospital staff that supports the option of donation.
Triage and Administration
Triage Coordinators: As the central communication hub between hospital partners and Lifeline of Ohio, they dispatch clinical staff and recovery teams according to notification priority.
Administrators on Call: High-level decision-makers that evaluate suitability of every patient and
offer support to maximize donor potential.
Family Services
They support families by aiding the emotional processing involved with complex decision-making, while offering appropriate education throughout the donation process.
Organ Recovery
Organ Recovery Coordinator 1: They document all patient information in Lifeline of Ohio’s EMR. They also coordinate transportation and coroner logistics.
Organ Recovery Coordinator 2: They optimize organ function, match suitable organs with
identified recipients and coordinate with recovery teams in the OR to ensure a smooth recovery process
Surgical Recovery
In collaboration with the transplant teams and hospital OR staff, they provide preservation, packaging and delivery of organs for transplant, research or medical education.
Tissue Recovery
They facilitate and recover all deceased donation tissues and corneas.
Donation Support Services
They intake all vented and cardiac death referrals, evaluate donor suitability for tissue and corneas and support families through the donation process.
Education and Development Specialists
They develop a highly-skilled and competent clinical staff at Lifeline of Ohio by providing professional training, resources and support through educational awareness, experiential learning and nurturing clinical mastery.
