Lifeline of Ohio is pleased to announce the expansion of our work with Demia Kandi, who now serves as Lifeline of Ohio’s Senior Diversity Consultant.

For more than 15 years, Demia has provided strategic outreach and community relations with Lifeline of Ohio. Her specialization in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and OPO multicultural outreach has been pivotal in building a culture of inclusion within Lifeline of Ohio and improving our ability to connect and engage with the communities we serve.

Demia’s work with Lifeline of Ohio includes developing our model for multicultural outreach by establishing our African American outreach initiative and our African American Advisory Council. This Council is a round-table of community leaders from a variety of fields who lend their expertise to advocate for donation. Throughout the years, Demia created other foundational programs including, A Hero’s Tribute and ShopTalk. Additionally, she cultivated long-standing partnerships with The Columbus Buffalo Soldiers, The Columbus and Twin Rivers Chapters of the Links Inc., and faith organizations throughout Central Ohio.

In 2019, Demia began steering our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts with the organization. Moving forward, Demia will be working with our Board of Directors, senior leadership and all departments throughout the organization. We are grateful for Demia’s long-standing contribution to our community and the mission of donation and we look forward to growing in our DEI knowledge and practices.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to also announce the hiring of Cre Cole as Lifeline of Ohio’s new Multicultural Engagement Coordinator. Cre will be responsible for further advancing our multicultural work and he will be integral to sustaining the foundational work done over the last decade.

Demia will work with Cre and the Community Outreach team to ensure that all of our key partners and Ambassadors are connected to each other to ensure continuity. Cre and the rest of the Public Relations team will consult with Demia on various projects as needed to advance our work and mission.
