Write a Donate Life Month Letter to the Editor
April is Donate Life Month and there’s no better time to remind your local community to register as organ, eye and tissue donors! We encourage you to write a letter to the editor of your local paper about Donate Life Month.
Jim Pepper encouraged readers to register as donors in his local paper, This Week Upper Arlington.
Share why donation is important to you and use your story to encourage their readership to register as organ donors. Include facts about donation like one organ donor can save eight lives and heal 50 more with their gift. Finally, help their readers register as a donor! To register, say ‘yes’ when you visit the BMV to renew your license or obtain your state-ID. You can also register now online.
Jim Pepper, a double-lung recipient and a Donate Life Ambassador, wrote a letter to the editor of This Week Upper Arlington News and it was published on April 4, 2013.
“I am very grateful to the individual and family who made the decision to ban an organ donor,” Pepper said in the letter, “which allowed me to have a second chance at life. I urge everyone to become an organ donor.”
