Revving Up for Live On. Ride On.™
We started another season of our Live On. Ride On.™ motorcyclist outreach program this past weekend. Beginning earlier than usual this year, we were afraid that April showers might deter our plans. Luckily, the sun came through on Saturday, and so did the bikers!
After setting up shop at Iron Pony’s launch of their new Victory and Polaris franchises, we spoke with hundreds of bikers. Many were registered donors, some weren’t, and others had personal ties to the cause.
Tammy, already an advocate for donation as she works at a local BMV, came right up to our booth to show off her green chair pin and Donate Life umbrella! We also met a biker who was a living kidney donor, and was proud to tell us his story. Ohers told us about loved ones who were donors and the impact that made in their families.
This event reinforced that in every community, there are connections to donation.
As always, the bikers who visited our booth showed overwhelming support for the cause. In just six hours, nine people signed up as organ and tissue donors! It was a great way to start off the motorcycle season and we are revved up for a busy summer.
Check out our upcoming events here and stop by our booth to sign up as a donor and pick up free Live On. Ride On.™ swag! You can also stay connected through our Facebook page. If you’re interested in having us at your biker event, email media@lifelineofohio.org.
