Rhonda Major-Mack

Blacklick, OH

Rhonda’s husband Rob passed away after waiting for years for a kidney transplant that never arrived. Since that day, Rhonda feels it is her responsibility to talk to her community about organ, eye and tissue donation because African Americans, like her husband, are three times more likely than white Americans to need a kidney transplant.

Rhonda believes every registered donor is a hero.  “People don’t believe the need for a transplant could directly affect them,” Rhonda said. “I’m a mom, wife and a real everyday person from Columbus, Ohio whose loved one died waiting for a transplant.”
