On Nov. 5, more than 400 central Ohioans gathered at the King Arts Complex to experience ‘Elements,’ a theater production designed to educate the community about the need for organ and tissue donation.
Lifeline of Ohio partnered with Tapestry Performing Arts Company to create an artistic explosion of dance, drama and real stories of donation. Inspired by the production, 25 attendees made the decision to become registered organ and tissue donors, and many others were touched.
Thank you for opening my eyes to organ donation. I am proud to register my decision today.
One of the dancers approached me after ‘Elements’ and said, “Thank you for opening my eyes to organ donation. I am proud to register my decision today.” Later that evening, I saw countless posts on facebook that read, “Every day 18 people die waiting.” This is yet another reminder of why educating the community about the need for organ and tissue donors and their ability to save lives is so important.
I am so grateful to everyone who helped make Elements a success and hope that those who were touched will continue to spread the message of donation.
