Aaron, Your dad would be so proud. He was very proud of you before and I was soo Happy to be in his life and share it if only for a little while. We got to do a couple poker runs together and the one to Bellfontaine for the Viet Nam Wall run was so inspiring, people along the highway waving flags and standing on the hoods of their cars to honor those who gave their lives for their country.
Your father was a terrific man who never hesitated to be there for ANYONE at any time of day. I got to expirience his love like that and I really miss him.
I too am an organ donor and it's amazing to me what all they can use. You even get letters from the Donor organization what they did use.
When you're having a particicularly hard day and you get a letter in the mail that say's Thanks for giving the gift of sight or parts of a heart or tissue is a heartwrenching Wonderful feeling that you and your loved one were able to help. It's indiscribable.

Aaron that awesome story. My story is kind of similar only it comes from the other side. I'm currently 55 and had juvenile diabetes for almost 27 yrs. I took 1 to 6 shots a day of insulin, but kept on riding my Goldwing, because thaT WAS ONE ENJOYMENT i GOT OUT OF LIFE.Approx. nine years ago I was put on dialysis(the diabetes had destroed my kidneys. I did parateneal dyalisis had home so I could keep on riding. I was eventually put on the donor list and in 2005 I received a kidney and a pancrease transplant. Awesome no more diabetes, no more shots and no more dialysis! 2 years after I got my transplant I got to meet the donor family. Their son Tyler was my donor.I talked and cried alot with his dad (my son and Tyler were about the same age)! Tylers dad told me how he and Tyler had talked about getting motorcycles, but never got around to it.After Tyler's death h and his wife went out and bought a motorcycle and started riding!!!!! It was just so awesome so completely amazing, yet so humbling. I keep Tylers memory in my mind and my heart-EVERYTIME- I throw my leg over my bike an d head out down the rode! THANKS For the most precious gift of all Tler!!!!! And thanks for your story Aaron.
